Location: Lubbock

Duties: Northern/Lucus Machine is looking to hire a full time CNC press brake and laser operator. The successful applicant will operate and maintain the equipment as well as make changes and recommendations to programs and workflow.

Primary Responsibilities: Interpret drawings and tolerances for manufactured parts. Write hand programs on the machine for simple parts. Set up the machines with appropriate tooling as the program requires. Adjust angle offsets to account for different material properties and heat treatments. Maintain an organized file structure for all programs on the machine. Keep tooling in a well maintained condition.

Experience/Skills/Training: Two to five years CNC plasma or laser experience is required. Candidate must be able to read and interpret prints utilizing different drafting standards. Must have a deep understanding of angle measurement and tolerances. Must be able to read a digital and analogue protractor. Must be able to read digital calipers. Candidate must be computer literate (Windows XP and up).

Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals. Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations. Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time, while also being entirely receptive to supervision and guidance. Other related education or training is a plus. Must be able to clearly demonstrate a safety-first work mindset and have experience and abilities to implement safety practices throughout all aspects of work performed. Proficiency in English and mathematical processes as may be demonstrated by the completion of high school or similar program.

Compensation: The successful candidate will enjoy a competitive salary based upon the skills and expertise they bring to the company. Currently, employees work 40 hrs a week on a four day schedule. Employees will also have access to healthcare insurance 50% of which is paid by Northern/Lucus Machine Inc.

Location: Lubbock

Duties: Set up and operate a variety of metal machining tools, lathes and other equipment to produce precision parts. Duties include fabricating new parts and components, as well as repair of existing customer equipment parts. Uses professional judgement in the fabrication of new parts and/or the modification of parts for repair, including general knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and best-practice machining practices and methods. Measure and otherwise help test completed parts/units for compliance and proper operation.

Help maintain, calibrate, and diagnose issues with general and computerized lathe, milling and other metal shaping equipment. Participate in company-provided training opportunities on latest industry technologies, and/or mentoring by other experienced machinists. Identify and report to company management any potential issues with equipment, procedures or part/component production.

Location: Lubbock

Duties: Work in a general capacity as part of a team in route to assembly and installation of gin equpiment. Help with all manner of shop tasks, including assisting welders, machinists and other craftspeople. May assist in the movement of rough material (metal sheeting, components, bulk wiring and so on), and assist in placing materials for assembly. May assist in packing or unpacking stock, preparing finished equipment for delivery, and loading and unloading various components or shipments. The position includes an interesting variety of assigned tasks.

Experience/Skills/Training: A minimum of one year prior experience working in an industrial, assembly or warehouse setting is preferred. Must possess the ability to read, interpret and understand manufacturer instructions, shipping instructions, and various labels and other printed material. Ability to work in a semi-independent fashion when needed as well as being a contributing member of a professional team, while also being entirely receptive to supervision and guidance. Other related education or training is a plus. Must be able to clearly demonstrate a safety-first work mindset and have experience and abilities to implement safety practices throughout all aspects of work performed. Proficiency in English and mathematical processes as may be demonstrated by the completion of high school or similar program.
